Campaign Narrative
Having just come from a rather pleasant feast with the Sheikh who controls the White Palm Oasis, and also having found out various bits and pieces of useful information/possible subterfuge, the four characters decide the late evening is a good time to go for a wander around the oasis. They want to take advantage of their favour with the Sheikh to have a good look around the place; besides, they spotted quite a few interesting landmarks as they flew into the oasis in the first place.

The players are encamped towards the top left of the map as you look at it, almost due north of area 2, which is the main camp of their desert tribe friends. They decide to move in a clockwise direction to check all of the areas that are highlighted on the map.

First of all, they skirt the point marked 4, just to the north of the main oasis waters. This is the location of the famous white palm, which does indeed turn out to be a white palm tree. Next, they investigate point 5, a very large monumental statue that is half-buried at an angle in the shifting sands. The group is looking for some sort of entrance to a hidden temple of Set, seemingly one of the bad guys in the ancient pantheon of the area. They know one of the Star Gems is in that temple, and if they could get their hands on it they would have three of the five they need. A good look around the statue, however, reveals nothing.

They then wander back down past the eastern edge of the oasis, waving to the ever-present guard party. Area 6 marks the spot of a burned camp, the remains of a group that tried to steal water from the oasis. Area 8 is the Sandvoyagers' compound, from which can be heard the sound of a rather jolly tavern. As the players approach the western end of the compound, where the main gateway is located, Destiny spots a shadowy figure moving in the darkness from the rough direction of the main nomad camp into the copse of palm trees surrounding the only area they haven't yet been to, the monolith at 7. Motioning the others into silence, she sneaks up and sees this personage, a nondescript tribesman, meeting with a couple of others. They then walk towards the monolith and head around the other side. They don't reappear.

Destiny rejoins her friends and they move to investigate. They are hoping they have found a way to reach the Temple of Set. Besides, it's now approaching midnight, which is when Sir Blanque is at his best...
